Vacation Day 8: Walking Trail/Family Fitch

Today we went out with Vavu for a walk on the walking trail he uses by his house. The trail was really pretty, and goes around a small lake. It’s 1.8 miles, and it was the perfect day for a walk. The sky was overcast, and the temperature was mild. There was a slight breeze, so it felt like a little fan on us as we walked. The boys came along in the stroller, and walked some of the time. We stopped near the end of the trail at a playground so the boys could climb on the play structure and just mess around in general. They had a really great time. Before we left, we checked out the new Veteran’s Wall of Honor at the edge of the park. It was a really nice tribute to all War Veterans.

Aiden took pictures with his new camera, but Maria spent over an hour trying to make the pics upload, and they got deleted. :-( Aiden was so disappointed. He kept asking to see his pictures. We will try again for him to take pictures when we go to “Jim Henson’s Fantastic World” exhibit at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock tomorrow. http://www.arkarts.com/calendar_events/event-detail.asp?id=63

After we got home from our walk, Andrew’s cousin Kevin (Fitch) and his wife Angie came over with their kids, Joshua (6), Jacob (3), and Joseph (2.5 months) to visit. Their new little baby boy is such a happy infant! He’s so cute! Their 2 older boys had so much fun playing with Aiden and Jeremy. They were running around the house in circles, playing Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Dr. Oc, Green Goblin, and the Penguin together. Aiden’s cousin Joshua was also Spiderman for Halloween this year. But his favorite character right now is Batman. His little brother (Jacob) is really into Superman. The house was well protected from villians!

Aunt Diana (Vavu’s sister) and Uncle Chuck (Fitch) came over for dinner in the evening. Vavu made steaks in his “Big Green Egg”, a housewarming gift from the Fitch Family when the Pascoals first moved to Arkansas. That Green Egg sure does cook fast! And good! http://biggreenegg.com/

We introduced everyone to the “Bean Game” after dinner. They picked up on it really fast! And I think we’ve spread the trend to a new section of the family!

------------------------------------------
The best part of day 8 was watching the Bean Game spread across the nation. :-)
The worst part of day 8 was having to finally do laundry.
What we learned on day 8 was once you teach someone the Bean Game, be prepared for them to win it. One large steak per person might be a bit much (too many leftovers)!
The weather on day 8 was really nice, a bit overcast and mild (73 degrees).

Wow! That's so cute that Aiden was able to play super heroes with the other boys! :) I love Dad's Big Green Egg. It makes delicious meat. Haha! Hooray for spreading the Bean Game!
