Right before we were ready to leave, Aiden’s fingers got slammed in the bathroom door by accident. The kids had been playing back in the hall, and Vavu went back there to tell them to stop, and when he shut the bathroom door so they wouldn’t play there anymore, Aiden’s fingers were there and got smashed. He cried and cried for at least an hour. But it didn’t end up being too much damage. Just some scraped skin. We thought maybe his fingers were broken, based on the crying level. But after some ice and some tv distraction and the promise of cookies, things calmed down.
Jeremy went to take a nap while we finished Aiden’s distraction movie. Then Aiden went to take a nap while Madison went home and Vavu went shopping for Christmas dinner. Drew layed in with the kids to make sure they went to sleep. Then he fell asleep. Then when he came out, Maria was asleep. We were a tired group.
After all of our naps, the kids went to decorate Christmas cookies with Madison and Steph. Andrew and Maria wrapped presents. And that pretty well sums up the day. We couldn’t muster energy up for much else.
